A couple songs into his set, Rob Zombie told the CTC crowd “forget about the usual rock show. I’m here to party with you!” Just balloons started falling from the lights and the band proceeded to punch and kick them out into the audience. Rob was here for the party and he brought it.
The next hour consisted of a heavy groove mix of some of Zombie’s best stuff including a few White Zombie favorites like More Human Than Human and Thunder Kiss ’65. We were even treated to a guitar solo from John 5 while Rob ran along the arena boards high-fiving fans.
Earlier in the evening, Marilyn Manson hit the stage. With only 1 hour to pull off an 11 song set, he still managed to cover a good chunk of his albums. As expected, fans were treated to Sweet Dreams and The Beautiful People. My only disappointment was not herring anything from the fantastic The Pale Emperor album.
