The Paul Brandt Journey Tour made its stop in Ottawa at the TD Place arena on February 16, 2019 with co-headliners High Valley and special guests Jess Moskaluke and Hunter Brothers.
Kicking off the night was a short set by the Hunter Brothers as they came out on stage to ‘Lost’ to get the crowd going. The Hunter Brothers fan squad was in attendance and on their feet singing along. After some humorous interaction with the crowd by the band they rolled right into the final three songs of the night for them ‘Those Were the Nights’, ”When You Love a Girl’ and finally the big fan favorite of the night ‘Born and Raised’ to close it out.

After some interaction with the crowd she moved on to the remainder of her 8 song set with the highlight of the night with ‘Cheap Wine & Cigarettes’ as she closed out her show and handed the reigns over to High Valley.

Co-headliners Brad and Curtis Rempel of High Valley hit the stage clearly as one of the fan favorites of the night. As the CCMA Duo/Group of the Year winner, multiple times, along with a plethora of nominations for CCMA and Juno awards; the crowd was show ready as the energy rose and the heat turned up!
Opening the set with ‘County Line’ they were certainly ready to “…tear it up on a Saturday night”.

Giving the crowd a taste of some new music with the live performance of ‘Single Man’ and then moving through the set with remaining hits. Coming down either side of the stage to move through the crowd and interact with their fans as they sang along was clearly a big hit of the night!

Closing out the set with quite possibly their 3 biggest hits ‘Make you Mine’, ‘She’s with Me’ and ‘I Be U Be’ left the crowd wanting more as it always does when High Valley visits Ottawa.

Paul’s 90-Minute 16 song set included a lot of crowd interaction and much love for one of the greatest Canadian Artists to grace the stage. Huge hits that had the crowd going wild like ‘Alberta Bound’ and ‘I Do’ along with all the songs in which he called out the members of the other bands such as ‘When You Call My Name’ with High Valley, ‘Lifes Railway to Heaven’ with Hunter Brothers and ‘I’m an Open Road’ with Jess Moskaluke.
Closing out his set and encore with the Johnny Cash cover ‘Walk the Line’ he also had High Valley and Jess Moskaluke on stage to finish the night, leaving the crowd definitely wanting more and fired up for the next time we see these guys arrive in the capital again.
