If you’re into the synth sounds that came out of the early 80’s you’ll want to check out the self-titled release from The High Energy Protons (a side project of Nova Spire).
The album is an all instrumental affair, whose tempo varies throughout with mellower numbers like Neon Cruising to the more frenetic beat of my favourite track 2600.
Clocking in at just over 40 minutes, the album offers up a host of ear pleasing sounds and rhythms. Other tunes that caught my ear were the opener La Femme Mauve, along with Soulmates of Funk and Beyond and Lap Dread with it’s driving tempo.
Grab a listen on Bandcamp. While you’re there, make sure to check out the rest of his growing catalog, including this album that introduced me to his music a couple of years ago.
