After 10 years of touring, releasing great music and entertaining audiences, The Balconies decided it’s time to call it a day. They went out on a high, with a final show at The 27 Club, 10 years to the day of their first ever show.
The club was packed for one “Last Lunge” with their beloved hometown act. The crowd erupted as the band took the stage and belted into Street Fighter. For an hour and a half, the band delivered the goods with the high energy performance they’ve become known for over the years.
It was great to hear a bunch of my favorites one last time. Songs like Kill Count, Battle Royale, The Slo and Boys and Girls.
After a short break, the band came back for a short encore. Filled with the emotion of the evening, it was understandable that a few tears would flow as they thanked the appreciative crowd for their support over the years.

Kicking off the evening was The Love Machine. I discovered them around the same time as I got into The Balconies about 8 years ago. They’ve been on a hiatus for the last few years, reuniting to help send their good friends off. The band picked up right where they left off like they’d still been playing together all these years. Their live performance was what drew me in to them as well. Check this band out if you get the chance. Apparently we can expect at least one more show in the spring! I’ll be sure to keep you posted with the details.
