The Balconies return home and announce a special benefit concert at Canterbury High School in Ottawa on November 22, 2013. The band will be joined by special guests Dear Rouge and The Capitol Beat. Tickets are now available here: www.thebalconies.ca/canterbury/.
Fans at the show will have an exclusive opportunity to buy a pre-release copy of the bands’ upcoming album Fast Motions, which won’t officially be in stores until the new year.
Canterbury High School is known for its exceptional arts program. Since opening its doors in 1969, the school has helped cultivate a number of famous alumni in both the athletic and artistic fields; including NHL players Gary Roberts, Michael Pecca and Brian Campbell, actors Vik Sahay and Jessica Holmes, and multi-instrumentalist Richard Perry: a core member of the Grammy award-winning band Arcade Fire. The Balconies front woman Jacquie Neville (guitar/vocals) and brother Stephen Neville (bass) are also proud graduates of Canterbury High School’s music program.
“Canterbury High School is an Ottawa gem! Both Jacquie and I are Canterbury alumni, and we consider ourselves very lucky to have been able to pursue a career in music. We believe all students should have the opportunity to study the arts, which is just one reason that Canterbury is so great,” says Stephen Neville.
