RUM FIT MOSEY
Saturday Sept 16, 2017 – 10:30 PM – FarmTeam Cookhouse (683 Bank St)
What was your reaction to the news you’d be a part of Marvest and who was the first person you told?
My reaction was total elation. My former band Trevor James & The Perfect Gentlemen had the privilege of playing Ottawa Bluesfest back in 2008, and my reaction was the same this time as it was then – childish butterflies. Being offered this kind of opportunity – and out right exposure for your music – is seriously exciting as all hell. I Called my mom right away.
Please describe your sound.
Painfully honest. Lyric focussed with melodies that will make your heart shake.
How did you get started on your musical journey?
My late father had an old Epiphone 12 string guitar. He couldn’t play it for shit god love him. One day I was really tired of listening to him butcher old country songs, so I picked it up and starting teaching myself open chord positions. Later that week I could play Country Road by John Denver. My dad was pumped. So was the rest of the family haha. The rest is history.
What can music fans expect from your show? Will you be playing or releasing any new music?
I have an EP ‘ Singles and Filters’ available digitally online and I am currently working on a full length record for RUM FIT MOSEY that I hope to have out this winter. As far as what to expect from the live show, it’s very stripped down and vulnerable. The songs are honest and pretty sounding, but about a time that wasn’t all that pretty.
What artists are you hoping to catch during this year’s Cityfolk and Marvest?
Father John Misty for sure. His vocal performance and stage presence is too good. Also Rodriguez on the Sunday. What a story that guy is!
