What was your reaction to the news you’d be a part of Marvest and who was the first person you told?
I remember casually scrolling through my email when I came across the response from Marvest. I was super pumped to read we had been added to the bill. It wasn’t long after that when I called my sister/bandmate to tell her the good news.

Please describe your sound.
Describing your sound can be tricky these days with so many terms and genres that have different meanings to different people but I would say the main element of our sound comes from the two vocals along with a unique writing style, throw in some catchy guitar riffs and a loop pedal and you got Mister & his Sister

How did you get started on your musical journey?
Our musical journey started in our parent’s basement about 11 years ago, where I first started writing songs. My sister and I kind of surprised ourselves with the outcome of our work. I had a band with some friends at the time and due to lack of material Kristy and I would perform an opening set at the shows. Eventually this snowballed and turned into our own band. I think it was a few years later when the name Mister & his Sister came out. I think it started as a joke and it just kind of caught on.

What can music fans expect from your show? Will you be playing or releasing any new music?
We try to create a welcoming atmosphere at our shows which hopefully appeals to most people. You can expect to hear some family harmonies, some new original music, and occasionally the odd terrible joke in between songs. We like to keep things simple, two mics, a guitar, and then go with the flow and have some fun. As for new music, Mister & his Sister have one full length album and will still be preforming shows but I have currently been in the works and have completed my first 5 song solo EP which well be out in the near future.

What artists are you hoping to catch during this year’s Cityfolk and Marvest?
As for artist preforming I am hoping to catch Rodriguez. It’s been mentioned before but the story of this guy is just simply incredible. It’s pretty cool to see Jack Johnson in our neck of the woods, we are both pretty excited about this show! Matt Mays is one of my favorite musicians so I am probably most excited to see him. He always puts on a killer show!  Also, hoping to catch some of these awesome locals, Aviation, Vicki Brittle, Bryan Snider, and of course the amazing Jimmy Tri-Tone Band.
