What was your reaction to the news you’d be a part of Marvest and who was the first person you told?
I was thrilled when I found out I would be playing Marvest! My parents were the first people I told. I think it’s a really creative way to showcase local artists and I’m honoured to be a part of it!

Please describe your sound.
I am a pop/country artist. I would say that I fall somewhere between Martina McBride and Colbie Caillat. I’ve been praised for my vocal purity/ethereal quality and will always leave behind a heartfelt, captivating performance.

How did you get started on your musical journey?
I’ve been singing since I was about 5 year old; picked up the guitar around 11 and started writing original songs little while after. I’ve spent the last couple of years really developing my artistry and honing my craft. I’m working on original music that I’m very proud and can’t wait to share! [Currently, I am working on a Factor-funded single, with CCMA award-winning producer, Jason Barry. You can find out more about me at: www.stephlarochelle.com.

What can music fans expect from your show? Will you be playing or releasing any new music?
All the music I will be playing is unreleased material. I’ll definitely throw in a few popular covers but I can’t wait to share new original songs with all of you!

What artists are you hoping to catch during this year’s Cityfolk and Marvest?
The artist that I’m really looking forward to seeing is Scott Helman. I saw him play a couple years back and loved the show! He’s such a great talent and so young – can’t wait!
