What was your reaction to the news you’d be a part of Marvest and who was the first person you told?
I was beyond elated to get the opportunity to be involved in this years Marvest! After squealing around my apartment for a bit (and totally terrifying my dog) I called my best friend Steph who’s a huge music lover and supporter!

Please describe your sound.
I’d describe my sound as a blend of acoustic-folk and old school soul.

How did you get started on your musical journey?
The Ottawa open mic scene was a huge proponent in me delving into my musical journey actually! I’m a self taught musician so after spending an ungodly amount of hours in a dark basement practicing and learning, open mics were a wonderful next step that helped me gain confidence to crawl up on those big bad stages and start doing music full time.

What can music fans expect from your show? Will you be playing or releasing any new music?
I’ve recently released my first official full length album ‘The Kid The Wall & The Box’ so I’ll be playing a lot of tunes from that album as well as a few new tunes to be featured on my next album that I’ve started working on.

What artists are you hoping to catch during this year’s Cityfolk and Marvest?
There are soooooo many rad artists in this years City Folk and Marvest! I’m particularly excited to see Broken Social Scene as well as Amanda Marshall as well as the Philosopher Kings and Ruth B. And I hope I can catch a few Marvest sets from Gentleman of the Woods, Tariq Anwar and the infamous Silver Creek to name a few! It’s an amazing lineup this year and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it all!
