Bruce Cockburn - promo

Iconic Canadian folk artist Bruce Cockburn will be at the National Archives on Saturday night to close out Ottawa’s first SpurFest.

Cockburn is joined by an assortment of Canadian writers and musicians, including Steven Heighton, Douglas Gibson, Marni Jackson, Rivka Galchen and Anne Fenn. Hosted by poet David O’Meara, the event has been dubbed “The Purdy Show,” in support of the Al Purdy A-Frame Restoration Campaign.

SpurFest is a new Canadian festival, and the organization’s mandate is to be a catalyst for change by initiating and encouraging dialogue that ‘spurs’ Canadians into action. It is also a celebration of Canadian artists and ideas. SpurFest is produced by the Literary Review of Canada and in partnership with Diaspora Dialogues.

General Admission tickets are available for $20.
