Saturday brought a mixed bag of music, with a little something for everyone. My evening began with the duo of Corb Lund and Ian Tyson. The pair of musicians well known in Canadian country music circles, delivered an entertaining set of music interspersed with short stories.

Up next, indoors on the Ravenlaw Stage, was Royal Canoe. Gaining traction with last year’s excellent release Something Got Lost Between Here and the Orbit, the band delivered an upbeat set of tunes to the packed house inside the Aberdeen Pavillion. Space was at a premium, as people stood outside the curtained off stage area, pulling the curtains aside to get a view of the band’s performance.

The final act to hit the outdoor stage, was Father John Misty. Check out our full review of Father John Misty’s set.
Matt Mays capped off the evening. If you thought the indoor stage was at capacity for Royal Canoe, things were even worse for Matt Mays. Many stood outside the curtained area, content to hear the show, while other positioned themselves for a fleeting view inside. Delivering a high energy set of his unmistakable rock sound, Mays and his band fed off the energy of the packed crowd.
