Vancouver based indie pop duo Rococode will perform on Wednesday May 4th 2016 at House of Targ.

The group’s new album Don’t Worry It Will Be Dark Soon comes on the heels of their critically acclaimed Panic Attack EP which came out last October. The album delves deeper into themes of growth, fear, escape, and acceptance.

I’ve been listening to them regularly for a couple of weeks now, and there’s plenty of catchy rhythms to be had on their latest release, but what really grabbed me was the interplay of vocals between Laura Smith and Andrew Braun. I love the contrast between their voices on many of the tracks. Take a look at their video for “Panic Attack” below.

Rebelle will be opening the night with an acoustic set. Formerly known as The Strain, these locals won the LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot back in 2012. Since I first discovered them, the group has become adept at turning out pop rock tunes that move you out of your seat. Paired with a high energy show, they’re definitely one to catch in the local scene if you haven’t yet seen them live.

Starting the evening is another local act, Willows. This is the first I’ve heard their name, but based on the tracks offered up on their bandcamp page, I think they round out the trio nicely.

If you like shows with a consistent musical style, House of Targ is offering up a great combo with this one. Don’t miss it!

Tickets are only $10. The doors open at 9pm, with the show at 9:30.
