Greathunter kicked off the evening at House of TARG. I wasn’t sure what to expect given this was only their second show and I wondered how they’d pull off some of the music live. They were already on stage when I arrived.
Walking down the stairs into the venue, I could already hear the fullness of their sound. As the band came into view, I saw they were accompanied by a violin and double bass. I knew then that I was going to enjoy the live versions of the songs I had been listening to at home for the last few weeks.

Up next was Potential Red. This was my first time seeing the guys perform. I first heard of them when they were announced as part of this year’s Marvest lineup.
It took the band a couple of songs to find their groove, but by the time they hit the third song, they were off and running. They tore through a set of short high energy songs, ending things off with vocalist David Sklubal leaving the stage to sing from the crowd. Their set ended with David knocking his keyboard to the ground and guitarist Matt Howells tweaking the nobs on his array of various pedals.

I was thrilled when I heard Rococode was returning. I’ve been listening to them regularly since their last appearance about a year ago at House of TARG.
A keyboard malfunction about half way through their set, had Andrew killing time with his best Hootie material. After a few minutes, the issue was fixed and the group kicked back into their set.
Featuring new songs off their Young Ones EP, along with some of my favorites off of Don’t Worry It Will Dark Soon. If you haven’t yet heard of Rococode, check them out and make sure you’re there the next time they roll into town!
