Night Lovell brings the energy to Algonquin Commons

Night Lovell brought his Goodnight Lovell tour to a sold out audience at Algonquin Commons Theatre last week. Although I’m not very familiar with his music, I was looking forward to this show after having seen him for the first time at Bluesfest back in 2017.

Doing a fine job warming the crowd up earlier in the evening were Illyminiachi and Lil Darklord. They had the crowd primed and ready to go.

Unfortunately people started to get antsy after the openers with Lovell taking the stage 30 minutes late. Once the lights went down and his name splashed across the back of the stage, the crowd erupted knowing their wait was finally over.

His DJ quickly warmed the crowd back up before Night Lovell burst onto the stage with the same energy I remember witnessing at Bluesfest. Using the entire stage as he bounced and strutted around, he had the crowd bouncing along with him and waving their hands.

Thanks to the Diamond Mine Agency for bringing Night Lovell back to Ottawa for an entertaining performance. Check out their site for more upcoming shows.
