Ottawa rock group The Powergoats and indie-soul band leMeow will be joining forces to put on an energy packed performance at the infamous Blacksheep Inn on Saturday, January 14th. The show will kick off at 8:30 PM with tickets available online at www.blacksheep.quebec or at the door for $10.00. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at Compact Music locations, Beaded Dreams, or by contacting either band directly. Shuttle bus tickets, departing at 7:30 PM from The Canadian Museum of Nature (240 McLeod St.), are also available for an additional $10.00.
The Powergoats, described as funk-laced rock buttered in blues, have firmly established themselves as fixtures in the Ottawa music scene. With three albums under their belt and musical influences ranging from blues to reggae, their infectious rhythms never fail to get toes tapping. Concert-goers should expect a high-energy rock and roll show.
Hot off of their recent Tokyo tour, leMeow will be dishing out a healthy dose of soul along with selections from their debut album York St. The quartet’s hook-filled melodies entertained an enthusiastic crowd at the 2016 Ottawa Bluesfest with The Revue adding that the band “immensely impressed”. LiVE 88.5’s music director DJ Noah said, “If you like Amy Winehouse, Fitz and the Tantrums, and Adele, you’ll dig leMeow!” Both bands will be joined by Kelly Craig on trumpet and Zeek Gross on alto saxophone.
