You can catch Ottawa locals Legion of Saints, The Tackies, and Sleepy and the Noise at LIVE! on Elgin on Friday, January 19th, 2018. Pre-sale tickets are $8, or it’s $10 at the door. Things get rolling around 8pm.
Legion of Saints
Legion of Saints is an independent four piece alternative rock band with influences from Foo Fighters, Billy Talent, Blink 182, and Rise Against. Band members include lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryce Atkinson, lead guitarist Floro Bely Jr., Bassist Shawn Bowser, and Drummer Sebastian Bax. Active since 2010, the band has been playing a number of shows around the Ottawa area while mainly focusing on the production of their full length album entitled Last Call. Their single “Red Silhouettes” is currently available on iTunes and is accompanied by its own music video which can be viewed on Legion of Saints’ Youtube channel.

A four member band stemming out of Carleton University, has been entertaining at several popular Ottawa venues since early 2015. Performing alongside The Lazys and Lights demonstrates how rapidly the band’s recognition has been growing. We have been described as an Indie rock band with hints of alternative and punk. Lyrics will make you ponder human relationships and bring a smile from unpredictable offbeat moments on stage. Beats and riffs are surely to bob your head and get the feet moving; seeing you dance to our groove is one of the greatest compliment to us. Having a great time together is the whole reason why the band was formed.

Sleepy and the Noise
Since dropping the critically-acclaimed debut EP Altitudes in late 2016, included among Ottawa Showbox’s ten picks for Top Local Albums that year, Sleepy and the Noise has been getting to know a growing fanbase at intimate venues while sharing the stage with some of Canada’s veteran and emerging musical talents. The inventive lyrics and grungy, melodic vocals of Christian Pasiak, paired with fuzzy driving rhythms and dynamic instrumentals, frequently draw comparisons by listeners to bands such as Dinosaur Jr., Pavement, and Smashing Pumpkins. Their first single Mountains and Valleys charted on college radio and Sleepy and the Noise has since been in regular rotation, with a 2018 release currently in the works.
