After checking out Fevers and Loon Choir at Club SAW, I was off to The Lounge to take in another couple Ottawa bands.
The Love Machine took the stage and showed why they were last year’s Big Money Shot winners. I was introduced to them through the BMS competition. Having seen them a few times now, I enjoy their performances more and more each time. The tunes were great, the energy was high and their fans were loud! If you haven’t seen the band live yet, do yourself a favor and check them out. But until then, give Sweater Weather a listen.
Last up at The Lounge were The Balconies, another Ottawa band that took home big money from the BMS in 2010. I thought they were great when I first saw them back then. Well they have taken their stage show to another level. They ended their set with Kill Count, but were called back on stage for an encore by their enthusiastic fans singing wooohooohooo! from the moment they ended the song. There’s never a dull moment when The Balconies take the stage.
If you were at The Lounge, you were treated to 2 hot local bands! Hopefully they’ll be gracing stages around town again soon.
