Josephine Leone recently released their new single Vice Grip. Building from a deep, dark groove to a powerful climax, the song is already being featured on Ottawa’s Live 88.5, as well as 94.9 in Toronto.
The band merges the nostalgic sounds of 90’s rock with a new age vision. After sharing stages with Bif Naked, Trooper, Loverboy, The Pack A.D., the band is ready to release their first full length later this summer.
The video was shot by Andrew Robillard and directed by both Robillard and Valerie Josephine (who also came up with the concept for the video). Play Dead Vintage helped with the wardrobe design for the black room scenes.
The band chose this as their next single because “we felt it was different than other material we have released in the past in the sense that it is a deeper, darker groove and more along the lines of the sound we are currently going for.”
The video was shot in the backyard at Valerie Josephine’s house and the black room part was shot at Adria Nadler’s (the owner of Play Dead Vintage).
With the band was looking to “attempt doing something more artistic and unconventional as well as creating a video that is provocative to the average viewer”.
