Inire recently dropped Cauchemar, their followup to 2009’s debut Born The Wicked, The Fallen, The Damned.
Cauchemar opens with a mellow and melodic instrumental, reminiscent of some of the tracks from Corrosion of Conformity’s Deliverance album. Similarly, Into the Labyrinth is one other such track.
When it comes to the rest of the album, your ears are taken on a pure joy ride of pounding beats, crunching guitars and gruff vocals. There isn’t a bad moment to be found. They had me hooked after the opening couple tracks.
After a few listens, a few of my favorites include Wide Awake, Endless and Let It Die.
Finally, Just a Halo Away, the album’s closing track, ends with a well executed string of harmonic vocals in acapella. A nice ending to an otherwise heavy album.
Put Inire’s Cauchemar on repeat and crank it! Also, watch the video for Endless below the album art.
