It’s been twenty five years since the release of The Headstones debut album ‘Picture of Health’ and the 90’s Canadian rockers made a stop in Ottawa to bring out some of the biggest fans and followers they have while on the tour named after the re-release of the album ‘Picture of Health’
The show opened with The Matchstick Skeletons coming on stage to cover the Cher hit ‘Bang Bang’ and then rolling right into their own setlist which got the crowd up on their feet and wanting more. As they got deeper into the set they started with a mixed cover of David Bowie ‘Fame’ and Prince ‘When Doves Cry’ that was jaw dropping.

As the set came to a close, the crowd was loud and vocal and ready for The Headstones to hit the stage.
The crowd ready and waiting, knowing they were going to hear the debut album ‘Picture of Health’ played in its entirety, was even more exciting for the hardcore fans on hand.

Starting the set in the dark with minimal red lighting, they broke out to the verse “Over the moon, over the top, over the people…” from the song ‘Its all Over’ which lead into ‘Heart of Darkness’ and then into the song that brought Hugh Dillon into the crowd amongst the fans for a sing-a-long of ‘Tweeter and the Monkey Man’ .

It did not take Hugh Dillon long after hitting the stage to point out the annoyance of mobile devices in the crowd while they performed, asking people to put them away and focusing on individuals he noticed that had not obeyed his commands.

They rocked like never before to a sold out crowd with 19 of the top songs which included a 6 song encore to finish the evening and send the crowd home still wanting more.
