Eric Leighton Benefit

On August 25th, 2017, the 2nd annual Benefit for “I Love to Play Hockey” in memory of Eric Leighton will be held at The Brass Monkey. The memorial benefit will support Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program.

Lost Acres, Ruckus and Odd Man Out will perform during the evening. The doors open at 8pm and tickets are only $10.

Eric tragically lost his life in 2011 in a high school accident. His love of sports inspired his family to start the event in support of Jumpstart. Last year they raised over $15,000, giving an extra 40 children a chance to join the “I Love to Play Hockey Program”. The money was raised through online donations, auction items and raffles.

They are hoping to repeat that success this year so that even more children can experience the joy of hockey. Even if you can’t make it out, consider making an online donation in Eric’s memory through the Jumpstart website.
