Last Thursday I headed out to the LiVE Lounge for another night of LiVE 88.5‘s Big Money Shot performance series. The lineup for the evening included Tools of Creation, Normann, Not Even Death and Wise, Young & King.
Unfortunately I got there too late to see Tools of Creation. The next band up was Normann. They had a classic rock sound, that was sort of the theme for the evening. From the shows I have been able to make it out to, the organizers have done a pretty good job of grouping bands by musical style.
Not Even Death, a hardcore band, were the oddball in terms of style. Their high energy set and screaming vocals definitely got a big reaction from their fans. They even brought their own additional lighting, giving a bit of a strobe effect to their set. If you’re into the hardcore sound, check them out.
Last up was Wise, Young & King. Their set consisted of fan favorites from their first album, as well as a preview of new songs from their newly recorded album to be released later this year. I was impressed by the new songs. If you haven’t yet heard of WYK, give them a listen. We’ll be sure to pass along information on their new album when it becomes available.
