Congratulations to The Strain, winners of the 2012 edition of the LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot competition!
The band easily tore through their set that featured many of the songs that I have come to know and love over the last couple of years. Feeding off the energy of a group of rabid fans that packed the front of the stage, it was hard not to get caught up in the excitement of it all.
The band has come a long way since I saw their first performance at the now defunct Live Lounge a couple of years ago. After last year’s disappointment of missing the top 6, the band kept hard at work, released a new EP and refined their stage show. Having witnessed the progression myself, I don’t think they’ll be resting anytime soon.
