A Melodic Evening with City and Colour

It was a warm Ottawa evening in November, filled with melodic tones and astounding voices from City and Colour, along with friends Ben Rogers and Jacob Banks.

Starting out the evening was Ben Rogers, a rock / blues artist out of Vancouver, BC. A unique style and distinct voice put on a great opening set.

Up next, many had the absolute pleasure of being introduced to the British singer/songwriter of Jacob Banks. Some of the tighest and most dramatic vocals you will hear.

Once Dallas Green hit the stage with his band City and Colour, the crowd was primed and ready for what they had to bring.

Touring for the bands sixth studio album release ‘A Pill for Loneliness‘, they got the night started with ‘Astronaut‘ followed seamlessly into ‘Strangers‘.

Dallas Green was in a zone, only addressing the crowd a few times, it left the evening for the fans to focus in on the distinct sounds and stage presence of City and Colour, along with the uniquely strong vocals of Green regardless of the song style.

The only negative we could take out of the evening was not getting to hear ‘Comin’ Home‘ or ‘Save Your Scissors‘ on the setlist.

Closing out the evening with a 5 song encore, and a crowd singlaong to the final song of the night ‘Sleeping Sickness‘. A duet that was created between Dallas Green and Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie just left everyone wanting more.
